Kearney Regional Airport Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Facility

When the Kearney Regional Airport was upgraded to a Class III airport, a new facility was required to meet needs. The new facility allows the airport to handle the arrival of large unscheduled aircraft and handle any emergencies such a landing might require. The 8,100 SF building contains three vehicle storage bays, a kitchen, control and communications room, mechanical and electrical communications room and storage for aqueous film-forming foam. Since the station has a fire engineered stationed at the airport 24 hours a day, there is also a TV/lounge area, sleeping area, restrooms, showers and lockers.
