Duplex Officer's Quarters

The Officer's Quarters is built on the existing foundation of the orginial 1891 building. The original building was a two-story frame structure with sandstone foundation. The 14,900 SF two-story replica will look the same while accomodating modern amenities and serve as a group lodge, interpretive center and meeting room.

The building has concrete foundation walls, wood structure, vinyl cased windows, asphalt shingles, cement board siding, Pergo and ceramic tile flooring, extensive wood trim to match the original building, split system heat-pump HVAC system and replica antique light fixtures.

Each side of the building is complete with a full kitchen, 3.5 bathrooms and five bedrooms which can accommodate four to six people. While the new version of the Officers’ Quarters will meet ADA standards, only the main floor will be handicapped accessible. Made possible as a result of a private donation, the Duplex Officers’ Quarters will fill in the gap in Fort Robinson’s history while meeting a growing demand for lodging at the park.
