Sadoff Iron & Metal Recycling Center

Sadoff Iron & Metal’s building sits on 10.6 acres at Lincoln’s Airport Industrial Park in Lincoln, Nebraska. The company recycles scrap metal and electronics. The new facility is located on a “brownfield” site that is contaminated with petroleum from the Lincoln Air Force Base fuel farm. This re-use type of arrangement is a win-win for both companies. The new site includes a warehouse, office and scrapyard. The plant buys and recycles nonferrous metals such as brass, aluminum, copper and some electronics equipment while then selling the metal regionally, nationally and internationally.

The office consists of metal stud framing with EIFS and concrete block veneer and light gauge metal trusses with a standing seam metal roof. Construction of the warehouse was precast concrete walls with an EPDM roof. The recycling plant was designed for ease-of-use, ingress and egress traffic patterns and includes security cameras as well as radiation detection.
