Converse County Joint Justice and Dispatch Center

The new Converse County Joint Justice and Dispatch Center in Douglas, Wyoming allows for the Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, Detention Center and Dispatch Center to all be housed in one building, with shared portions of the building.

The 60,000 SF project consisted of a 28,000 SF law enforcement center, 29,000 SF detention center and a 3,000 SF four lane indoor pistol range. The law enforcement center houses the dispatch center, shared recreation and multipurpose spaces and the police and sheriff’s departments. The Detention Center features a sally port and juvenile booking, with the ability to hold approximately 75 inmates.  Precast concrete cells were set with a crane to provide both labor and time savings.
