Saunders County Law Enforcement Center

The 63,000 SF Saunders County Law Enforcement Center replaces a structure built in 1930 that could house only 16 inmates. The new facility has a capacity of 155 inmates in all classifications up to maximum security.  

The new jail includes pod housing as well as dormitory style rooms, detoxification cells and suicide watch cells. The jail also features an indoor recreation room with high coiling doors that open for fresh air. The facility incorporates the newest technology such as a digital scanner and an on-site terminal for automated fingerprinting. Cameras in every cell block and visitation areas record and monitor activity which can be viewed in the master control room.

Additionally, the state-of-the-art jail is equipped with a vehicular sally port, a computer polygraph test room, two new courtrooms and office space for the Sheriff, county attorney, jail and court administration.
