University of Nebraska - Lincoln Morrill Hall 4th Floor Renovation
Morrill Hall, a museum located on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's campus, houses a hands-on discovery center, the world's largest articulated fossil mammoth among a collection of other fossil, a dinosaur gallery, an ancient life, gems and minerals, as well as evolution exhibits. American Indian and African exhibits can also be seen at the museum.
Sampson Construction completed 15,000 SF renovation of the museum, consisting of demo and remodel of the 4th floor per plans and specifications from Kenneth Hahn Architects. The 4th floor has been closed to the public for almost 50 years and can now provide state-of-the-art exhibits. The renovation provided the museum with nearly 8,700 SF of additional gallery and educational space. Also included in the scope of work, while the building was occupied, was a new fire service to the building, a full building fire protection system and miscellaneous ADA and fire code improvements throughout the other floors of the building.
