YMCA of Natrona County Pool

As part of their continuing “Build Tomorrow Today” campaign, the YMCA of Natrona County has approached the culmination of their Phase II development plan. As a broad expansion of their new building, this project of over 16,000 SF includes both a large, six-lane lap pool, and a temperature-controlled family pool. These ambitious plans come with daring goals for a growing facility: according to Development Director Glenda Thomas, “We plan to provide free swimming lessons to every 2nd grader in Natrona County.”

Besides swimming pools, the expanded facility includes a universal locker room, member lounge, community studio, and youth adventure zone. Much of the expansion aims to appeal to older children and teenagers, whom the YMCA believes is underserved. To serve this goal, community rooms and classrooms are designed to support birthday parties, yoga studios, art classes, and other opportunities.
