On April 20, 2012, Sampson Construction began constructing North Platte's city bus barn. The project will include a steel building with 11 parking stalls, wash bay, and restrooms. The project is made possible through federal stimulus funding and the city is contributing 20% of the overall cost. The new public transit storage building is located near the National Guard Armory and North U.S. Highway 83.
