The public had the opportunity to attend a “behind the scenes” with a tour of York General Hospital’s surgery department on Thursday. From 5 to 6:30 p.m., attendees had the chance to win door prizes and enjoy light hors-d'oeuvres after tours. The more than 12,500 SF department offers the latest surgical technology for a variety of specialties. Construction included outpatient surgery rooms, a surgery consult room, a chapel, waiting area, surgical suites, a centralized nursing station and a central sterilization area. Since May of 2016, York General Hospital has undergone several phases of construction to improve the facility.
