Municipal Service Center

The Municipal Service Center was a remodel of an existing building. The first floor is a total of 231,500 SF and the various mezzanines combine for a total of 30,948 SF.

The extremely large open area of this facility will be used for fleet maintenance for several City departments. The departments occupying the new space include the City Radio Shop; Lincoln Parks and Recreation; West District; Urban Search and Rescue; Lincoln Fire and Rescue – Training and Maintenance; City Signal Shop and City Sign Shop. The office space within the building will be for each department’s maintenance operations. Sampson Construction added 42 overhead doors for access to the maintenance areas. Storage “pins” were also built for storing materials such as salt, sand and mulch on-site. This was an 11-month project with completion in summer of 2013.
