Beatrice YMCA

Beatrice YMCA

The Beatrice Mary Family YMCA received a major renovation to its existing wellness and fitness center. The facility also received two multi-purpose gyms and a regulation-size basketball court as an addition to the existing building.
The project, completed in July of 2000, included the renovation of 3,400 SF of the existing building and a 17,000 SF addition. The exterior was designed to seamlessly integrate the addition and the existing building by incorporating metal wall panels with a brick belt line. The addition included a new gymnasium, with a regulation-size basketball court, as well as two smaller multi-purpose cross courts. The side gymnasium is used primarily for gymnastics, but also as a dance center. The existing gym was converted into a wellness center with half being carpeted flooring for fitness machines and the other half rubber flooring for free weights. The renovation also included architectural upgrades with the installation of new lighting, acoustical wall panels, and mirrors.
