University of Nebraska at Lincoln, East Campus Recreation Center

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus Recreation Center received a new addition and renovation to the existing building, originally built in 1926. The Recreation Center offers an activities room, smoothie bar, and a fitness center.

The UNL East Campus Recreation Center received a 75,000 SF addition and renovation. The building includes two single court gymnasiums, an elevated jogging track, a cardiovascular and strength training room, and a group exercise and activities room. Other features of the addition include a wellness service area, staff offices, locker rooms, family changing room, equipment storage and maintenance areas. Public space consists of a control desk, lounge area, meeting room and free day-use lockers. A few unique features that were add alternates to the base bid include a smoothie bar, new wood athletic flooring in the gymnasium, sport impact rubber flooring in the group exercise and activities room, and sliding automatic entrance doors.
