Torrington Middle School

Torrington Middle School was built to accommodate a more efficient flow of students and faculty in a middle school level setting. With this in mind, three independent classroom wings were incorporated into the project that contain all student subjects except for physical education and fine arts.
Torrington Middle School entailed just over 68,000 SF of new construction. The project included three classroom wings, a media center, multiple computer classrooms and technology labs, a new large gymnasium with full size cross courts, locker room facilities, special education classrooms, a new kitchen, a cafeteria/commons area, music, band and art rooms, exterior parking lot, drainage structures, and recreations areas. The three classroom wings function as independent entities for the three grades housed at the middle school and each wing contains six classrooms including science/chemistry labs and restrooms which allow the students to remain in the one wing except for physical education and fine arts classes which results in a more efficient flow of students and staff between classes.
