Lux and Scott Middle School

The Lux and Scott Middle Schools were the first two schools in the Lincoln Public School District to be designed around the concept of middle level education. The teaching environments in both schools was arranged to facilitate interdisciplinary instruction and interaction and was encompassed throughout the design and construction of these projects.

In 1996, Sampson Construction was awarded construction of the new Lux and Scott Middle Schools on the competitive bid market.  The structures are constructed of a masonry fa├žade with steel stud backup.  Besides three pod areas of classrooms, each school includes a gymnasium, cafeteria, industrial technology department,  and media center.  In December 2008, Sampson Construction completed a 10,800 SF addition to each school simultaneously.  Each project location included a classroom and corridor addition, roof top units at each three pod areas, and brick restoration at each school.
