Davis Elementary

The aging Davis Elementary School was demolished beginning the summer of 2014 and was replaced with a new 49,710 SF state-of-the-art elementary school. 350 students and 50 faculty members occupied the building at the beginning of the school year in the fall of 2015.

Davis Elementary has all the essential modern technologies for students to learn and attain new skills. The school features 21 classrooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria, administration area, and art, media and music rooms. Building materials include structural steel with metal studs, brick veneer, metal wall panels, and CMU walls in the gymnasium. Large block retaining walls were added around the school perimeter and rammed earth piers under the building foundation provide additional structural support. The footings, foundation and masonry had to be built during the winter months to maintain the project schedule, thereby ensuring school could begin on time in the fall.
