Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior Research Lab - University of Nebraska-Lincoln

The Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior (CB3) Research Lab opens to study effects of concussions and other sport related issues.

The UNL Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior is located within the new East Stadium expansion of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Memorial Stadium. The facility is located in the Southern half of the East Stadium on four different levels – the concourse, the second and third levels and the lower level mechanical room. Work was completed on all four levels. It is 27,500 SF of office and laboratory space, including a magnetically shielded MRI Suite. The space that houses the MRI has copper walls. A “chiller” was added to cool the magnet on the MRI. This facility will support the Center’s partnership with UNL Athletics to study the true effects of concussions, among other sports-related issues. The facility was contractually required to be complete in August, 2013, but instead reached final completion in mid-July 2013.
