Centennial Mall M-P Street Landscaping Renovation and M-N Storm Sewer

Centennial Mall was originally built in 1967. It serves as a public gathering space between Nebraska’s State Capital and the University of Nebraska. The City of Lincoln made a commitment to assist in funding improvements. Sampson Construction was proud to be a part of the Revitalizing Nebraska’s Centennial Mall.

The Centennial Mall M-P Street Landscaping Renovation and M-N Storm Sewer project was bid on a competitive market. Sampson was awarded the project and went right to work on coordination between City of Lincoln, Lincoln Parks and Recreation, and the neighboring businesses. The M-P Street Landscaping Renovation involved maintaining at least three operational lanes surrounding the site, public right away for pedestrians, and safety of construction area for downtown events such as the RibFest, Celebrate Lincoln, and Husker football games. Upgrades to utility and electrical were completed along with landscaping. The City’s storm water management system used a unique sustainable application called Silva Cells. Silva Cells are a modular subsurface material installed underneath sidewalks to allow for better water flow for trees and other vegetation. The M-N Storm Sewer project included upgrades to the storm sewer and required custom inlets.
